Sichuan University, referred to as “Chuan Da”, is located in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province. The school was formed by the merger of the former Sichuan University, the former Chengdu University of Science and Technology, and the former Huaxi Medical University. The original Sichuan University was founded in 1896 by Sichuan Governor Lu Chuanlin Feng Guangxu. The Sichuan Zhongxi School was the earliest modern college in Southwest China. The former Chengdu University of Science and Technology was the first multi-disciplinary group established during the adjustment of the New China Department. The original engineering college; the former Huaxi Medical University originated from the Western Christian University in Western China founded in 1910 by the Western Christian Association, is the earliest Western-style university in Southwest China and one of the earliest universities in China to train graduate students. In 1994, the former Sichuan University and the former Chengdu University of Science and Technology merged into Sichuan Union University. In 1998, it was renamed Sichuan University. In 2000, it merged with the former Huaxi Medical University to form a new Sichuan University. [4]

As of January 2019, the school is expected to have three campuses of Jiang, Huaxi and Jiang'an, covering an area of ​​7050 mu; 17 subjects have entered the top 1% of ESI global; there are 5,494 full-time teachers and more than 37,000 full-time undergraduates.
