University of Science and Technology of China, referred to as China University of Science and Technology, is located in Hefei City, Anhui Province. It is directly under the Chinese Academy of Sciences and is directly under the central government. It is ranked among the world's leading universities in the construction of Class A, 211, and 985 projects. The University of Science and Technology of China was founded in Beijing in September 1958. Her founding was called “a major event in the history of Chinese education and science”. After the school was established, the Chinese Academy of Sciences implemented the “All Schools, Schools and Departments”. The school policy has brought together a group of famous scientists such as Yan Jici, Hua Luogeng, Qian Xuesen, Zhao Zhongyu, Guo Yonghuai and Zhao Jiuzhang. They were listed as national key universities in the second year of school. In early 1970, the school moved to Hefei City, Anhui Province, and started the second. Second-time entrepreneurship; after 1978, the school established a juvenile class, a first-class graduate school, a national science project, and a new initiative for the world to open a school; it is also the only university participating in the national knowledge innovation project.

As of June 2018, the school has 20 colleges (including 6 science and education integration and co-construction colleges), 31 departments, as well as Suzhou Research Institute, Shanghai Research Institute, Beijing Research Institute, Advanced Technology Research Institute, and the First Affiliated Hospital; 12 national scientific research institutions, 4 national key science and technology infrastructures and 55 key provincial and ministerial research institutions.
